Creating this music has been a response to the sudden loss of my brother Dan in February this year to cancer at age 56. Learning to play his bass, and using it to add new layers into my existing music, has been a way for me to visit him in my thoughts on a regular basis, and to connect to movements within me which are beyond words - emotional expression without language, and without the need for things to 'make sense' - just to be with 'what is'.

Dan collected several guitars and I now have his electric bass next to my piano. I am teaching myself to play it and have added multi-tracked bass parts to some of my previously-released music - this collection includes electric piano improvisations from 2020. I've also written some new music using the bass. I miss you, Dan.
